The Amherst Survival Center’s needs vary on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis. An unrestricted gift allows us the flexibility to meet unexpected or sudden peaks in need – including shortfalls in food supplies. An unrestricted gift is a most appreciated way to support the effective operations of the Amherst Survival Center, which serves over 4,000 people each year.

“I come from a low-income family, and, speaking from experience, I know it’s not easy to go to a food pantry. At the Amherst Survival Center we offer food, along with dignity and respect for all who come through our doors. After four years now as a volunteer, I know peoples’ names and the names of their children. I like making this a place where folks can feel more than comfortable, I like making them feel really welcomed. The Survival Center is a place where we nurture each other and really bring out the best in everyone.
